Venture 4x4 Mission Statement

Northern Lights

Land Rover

We strive to be the premier provider of Overland and Photographic expeditions to Iceland. Providing outstanding personal service and inspiring all by sharing our passion for the wonders of Iceland.

Dawn and I first visited Iceland many years ago and were so impressed with the people and the country that we have returned many times. We currently spend just over three months each year there either exploring with clients on overland and/or photographic expeditions or just for pleasure.

What attracted us to return, after that first visit, and on later trips venturing into the interior was the prospect of seeing some of the most spectacular scenery on Earth in a land that has been described at Europes last wilderness.

The country is truly amazing and seems to 'have it all', from dramatic coastlines and fjords to ice capped mountains and majestic glaciers; from farm land around the coast to desert terrain in the interior that goes on for miles and miles and not forgetting those volcanoes , hot springs and the aurora borealis.

Iceland is an Overlanders and Photographers playground and it is our aim to inspire all those who travel with us to enjoy it as much as we do.

Personal Biographies

Andrew Fisher
Born: England 1958

Studied: BSc(Hon) Mechanical Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma Computing, British Mountaineering Council Mountain Leader (MLTB), Certificate in Education, British Red Cross First Aid and REC Advanced Mountain Emergency First Aid, and much more.

For nearly four decades I have had a keen interest in motor vehicles.  This interest increased during my studies for a Mechanical Engineering Degree and then as an advanced driver in the Police Force.  In the mid 1990’s I changed my career direction and after a period of study at Masters level became a Higher Education Lecturer in Computing.

My love of four wheel drive vehicles took a more professional step forward when in 2005 I qualified as an off road instructor through Land Rover Experience and shortly thereafter obtained my Lantra Awards Assessors qualifications in Off Road driving and Vehicle mounted winches.

In 2007, I joined, as a volunteer, the Lincolnshire 4x4 Response group and I am currently the senior instructor involved in off-road and beach driver training as well as being on the Board of Directors (2012-2015).

I currently work full time for my Off Road driver and Icelandic expedition business as well as the occassional bit of part time teaching work.
