Day 1 - Arrive Seydisfjordur early after 2 days of sailing ready to see something exciting - not necessarily ready for the corrugation up to DettiFoss but fantastic enormous waterfall, then on to Namaskard geothermal area and a few places around Myvatn then a swim in the blue lagoon of the north

Day 2 - Start the day at the Cowshed cafe, then visit the Krafla area including the colourful mountain Leirhnjukur before heading into the interior to mount Herðubreið then onto the Askja with its vast lava field and the Viti as well as the Oskjuvatn 2nd deepest lake 217 m

Day 3 - Leave askja in the morning take a trip out into the F910 - to view Kverkjokull split in half north to south the second largest volcano within the Vatnajokull, then head back to Askja then on to the campsite at Kverkjoll the bridge to the icecaves had been taken out by the glacial river the previous day prevented us visiting them.
Day 4 - We then came back circum navigated Myvatn then on to Husavik and whale watching although the only thing we saw was puffins  
Day 5 - Set off from Husavik in the morning - stop for a dip in a warm lake, then on to Godafoss then rest of the day in Akureyri

Day 6 - Back into the interior very misty on route to Hveravellir with its geothermal area and hot tub

Day 7 - Left camp following close to Hofsjokull which we get a really close look at when we go to the geothermal area of Kerlingarfjöll from here we follow the Langjokull down to the source of the hvita river which feeds into Gullfoss on to Geysir and camp in the shadow of Seljalandfoss an enormous waterfall you can walk behind.

Day 8 - Porsmork National Park, known as the 'forest of Thor' is also the flood plain for Eyjafjallajokull (the volcano that caused all the air traffic problems in 2010) The track in to and out of Porsmork consisted of varying types of surfaces and had more than 70 river crossings. Misty on the way in but cleared. During our day we close to the Gigjokull glacier that is part of the Eyjafjallajokull, from here we went to look at the Kerid crater with its amazing colours, then on to Pingvellir with its amazing landscape where the first parliament was created.

Day 9 - Leaving Pingvellir and head to the coast stopping at Strandarkirkja where it is said that some sailors in trouble at sea built a church where they landed - lunch on the cliffs then on to geothermal area at Krisuvik then into Reykjavík.

Day 10 - Travel from Reykjavic to Landmannalaugar through stunning scenary and more river crossings

Day 11 - Leave Landmannalaugar heading to Vik with its stunning black beaches then on to Skogafoss waterfall ending with a close up visit to Sólheimajökull and the ice cave

Day 12 - Visiting Laki the line of craters and on to Skaftafell and the glaciers

Day 13 - Leave campsite at Skaftafell and head for a few hours at Jokulsarlon glacial lake.
   
Day 14 - Eastern Fyords and on our way back to the ferry.
